This happened a little while ago, just after the Lizardmen release, but my exchange with Micro Art Studio recently came to mind and I thought it would be something interesting for the Blog.
Before I go into this, let me firstly say this is a positive review, I was overwhelmed by their customer service and I thought it important for positive things to be mentioned as the internet does have a tendency to be a tad of a hate machine.
Back during my GW manager days one of my staff members had shown me his collection of Micro Art Jungle bases as a suggestion for the Lizardmen army I was talking about doing. Well although I never got around to getting the army, I never forgot the bases. So when the new releases came out and I relented to my love of Lizards and dived into the army, (they remain unbuilt until I finish my Orcs btw) I decided to see if the bases were still there.
Well I was saddened to see that they had disappeared from the site, so I decided to send a quick e-mail to find out why they were gone and if they would return. A day later I received a very friendly response telling me that they had gone off sale so they could be re sculpted that they were almost done, included were two photos of the WIP bases, and that they would be on sale in a few months. They then said that if I was in desperate need that they could arrange for me to buy them in a months time.
I've unfortunately lost the e-mail (don't ask me how..) otherwise I would have screenshoted it, but still this was an amazing example of customer service and I can tell you that from now on I will strive to use them for my basing needs.
Here are two photos of painted versions of the bases.
So if you want to base your minitures on a HUGE variety of amazingly sculpted bases, I highly suggest Micro Art Studio.
