This guy is in my collection mostly because he came in the Christmas Orc and Goblin Army deal as opposed to being an integral part of my army. I've played Fantasy a handful of times and therefore have no idea how chariots work in the synergy of an army, but he was there so i thought I would put him together.
Originally these kits come with the old style boars, as shown in the picture below, but considering they look a bit crap and the boars for all the rest of the army have a consistent look I decided to buy a pack of regular Orc boar boys and do a bit of a conversion.
Some advice for those of you looking to do the same. Firstly don't buy regular Orc boar boys, buy savage orc boar boys. The reason is that the regular ones have their arms holding a tuft of hair, meaning that your boars end up having a large bald spot in between the boar's hair, which you either live with, greenstuff or shave off a segment so that there is just a consistant bald spot. I opted for the later and I think it looks good enough.
The next issue are the parts of the boar which lack fur due to the fact that an Orc's leg is meant to be covering it. Again you can either leave it or green stuff fur back on. This time I tried my hand at greenstuff and although it doesn't match the fur sculpt entirely I think it works enough and should blend once painted.
I must say I prefer the look of my chariot to that of the original, I'm curious to see if they will do something with this plastic kit in the near future and if my conversion will stand the test of time. For now, I'm very happy!
