I always try to make duplicate models look different, so with the Spiders I thought the easiest way would be to base them differently, of course it ended up a bit harder than I thought it would.
You see Arachnarok Spiders front and back legs are fixed in position and place it into the an odd stance if you don't have it crawling off of the branches that come with the kit. Therefore to have it crawl over The Lord of the Rings scenery required me to cut and wire the legs to change their position.
First I cut the legs at the first and middle joins
Then I drilled holes and glued paperclips between them so that I could lengthen the legs and change their position.
I then glued the legs on and when they were dry, bent the paper clips so that the legs supported the spider as it climbed over the ruins.

And voila, a uniquely posed Arachnarok. I'll have to green stuff the joins obviously, but that should be pretty straight forward.

Here's a look at the standard Arachnarok, I positioned his tree logs slightly different so that he lunges forward a bit more than normal.
