Black Orc Hoard

Black Orc Hoard

Hoard number 2 complete, well Orc hoard number 2 complete. The Nightgoblin hoards have been done for a while, but they're a piece of cake so they don't really count for me..

These guys made the savage orc hoard seem like a walk in the park, I have no idea what they're like to rank up when you're not using resin bases, but holy hell did they cause me issues.

I put this together initially as a 30man hoard, but after looking through my bitz box and finding some Mournfang cavalry and a couple of spare Ogres I thought, hell lets turn this unit into a 40man hoard.

Since taking the photo I have built and based another Black Orc to fit in Grimgor's place for the same reasons I had for my Savage Orc Hoard. Grimgor by the by is a beautiful model, seriously, I just adore him.

Here's a slightly more aerial view of the hoard.

And here are my unit fillers

Orc & Goblin Unit Filler

The Ogre is pretty simple, I threw some of the armored parts from the Mournfang Cav kit and stuck a spare Night Goblin heads from the Fanatic Kit onto his baggage Gnobler to turn it into a baggage goblin.

Mournfang Black Orc needed a bit of cutting, sanding and greenstuffing to get him to sit right on the riding legs that come with the standard Orc Boy Command sprue. I think it works quite well, the legs are a little too small, especially side on, but due to unit positioning you don't really see that.

  2. Thanks! They are Highland Crag bases by ForgeCraft. I picked them up from Dark Sphere, which is a store in London but it does have a website you can order from.
